VitaFoods can be very different definitions in different countries and so results in different regulatory requirements to meet the regulations. Foods with functional/health claims in the Greater China areas, especially for Mainland China and Taiwan are regulated by certain regulations. Both will need to get the approvals to get on the markets with certain claims. The certification/approval in Mainland China is so called [blue hat] as the approved logo is a blue hat style while the one in Taiwan is so called [green man] as the approved logo is a green man style. In addition, not every ingredient is allowed in regular foods in both Mainland China and Taiwan either. Several medicinal ingredients and novel ingredients (not employed in regular foods in the past) will also need to get the approval before it can be treated as edible food ingredients. The regulation in Mainland China is so called [novel food ingredient] while the one in Taiwan is so called [non-traditional food ingredient].
