Taiwan FDA announced that [Health] is not allowed as the product name for regular foods

Taiwan FDA had just announced that [Health] is only can be used for the [Health Food] which has been certified with certification mark (so called little green man) issued by Taiwan FDA and is not allowed as the product name for regular foods on August 4th, 2020. This mandatory regulation will be effective on July 1st, 2022.

To attract consumers, many food product names will employ [health] to express the products are good for the health. For example, health oil, health cookie, health juice and so on. In order to avoid the confusion images with the ones that with the certification mark for the consumers, Taiwan FDA published the amended version of the [Guideline for regular foods and related products with claims and their advertisements involving untruth/exaggeration/misleading/medical function], said Director Lee of Food Department of Taiwan FDA. The articles 4 and 6 regulate [Health] is not allowed as the product name or part of the product name for the regular foods.

Health, High fiber, and related claims also need the corresponding conditions. The new regulation will be effective on July 1st, 2022. The regular foods produced after the date violate the regulation will be fined NTD 40,000 to 4,000,000 and requested recalled for revision.
